Lorne's Story...

Lorne Ryder is a Canadian Singer/Songwriter who’s actually lived most of the stories he sings about.

Lorne is currently in the studio working on his roots inspired second solo CD. From self discovery to the trials of life, Lorne’s newest songs examine every facet. Following the release of the new album in late 2011, Lorne plans to hit the road - sharing his music across Canada and into the United States.

Backing up Lorne’s songs on the new album are some of Canada’s most talented musicians, including Gary Craig (Anne Murray, Tom Cochrane) on drums, up and coming cutting edge drummer Riley O’Connor, Rob Brown on bass and multi-instrumentalist Ed Bernard. Lorne is co-producing the album with Ed Bernard as well as some production by Peter Linseman (Karina Es, Donna Ferra.)

Over Lorne’s 25 years in the music business, his music has taken him across Ontario, Quebec and Manitoba, as well as to Nashville, TN. He has co-written songs with the likes of Naisoe Sheridan (Jason McCoy, Kenny Chesney) and appeared on recordings along side Jeff Healey, Wendall Ferguson, Gary Craig and John Dymond. Since starting out on the road to a career in hard rock, including recording 2 rock demos as the band “First and Last,” numerous tours in Northern Ontario brought out the story teller in him. He returned home and began work on his debut solo CD, “Ice Cream and Guns.” After taking some time off to work on his keyboard and harmonica skills as a side-man for various bands, he’s ready to share his own music again.

With a new album nearly in hand, Lorne is ready to continue influencing the song writing community. Get ready, the second leg of his journey has just begun.
