Nashville and CMA Awards - A Quick Review

What a great trip to Nashville!  Met some more great people and watched some awesome performances.  Was treated to an awesome jam by Mike Henderson and his blues band at the Bluebird Cafe - WOW.  I also had a chance to have a meeting with the NSAI (Nashville Songwriting Association) - what a great group of people working in that office.  Looking forward to the next trip down.  Oh, and thanks to radio host Blair Garner for suggesting the best mexican restaurant ever (Chuy's.)

As I mentioned earlier, I was able to attend the CMA Awards while I was down there and promised a review of some sort.  It was cool to see Lionel Richie perform some of his hits with a country flavour, but it's a tie between the tribute to Glenn Campbell and the surprise performance by Gregg Allman that get my vote for favourite moments of the show.

Some samples of the new music are finally up - give them a listen and let me know what you think!

CMA Awards

Hi everyone!  I am lucky enough to be attending the CMA Awards in Nashville tonight!  I'll let you know my review(s) after the show!

Nashville Countdown

Well, Hallowe'en is over and now it's time to clean up the candy wrappers and recover from eating too many treats.  It's also time for me to head to Nashville again, with some great new songs in tow!

Keep checking the music page for samples of the new music - I've already posted a few to get you started.  I am so happy with all the songs and how they are turning out - some of the best stuff I've written in a long time.  Thanks to all the guys and girls who have played and sang on the songs - you're making the songs come to life!

While down in Nashville I'll be hitting the Bluebird Cafe, the Commodore and also getting the chance to go to the CMA's!  It's going to be a great trip with some awesome music loving friends.

Can't wait to tell you all about the trip,

Nashville Bound

Well, it feels like just yesterday we were getting ready for summer, and now it feels like fall is here to stay in Southern Ontario.  Hey, remember when we were all complaining about how hot it was?

Anyways, the CCMA's being in Hamilton in September got me itching to head south to Nashville and do some more songwriting as well as take in some great live music.  I'm heading south at the start of November - turns out I'll be there during the CMA's which is an added bonus.

Before I go, I'll post some of the music I've got ready for the new album - I can't wait to release the final product!

CCMA Withdrawal

Hope you are all having a great end to summer and are gearing up for a wonderful fall.

Hard to believe the CCMA's were in Hamilton a couple weeks ago and that it's already over.  It was great catching up with the old friends, as well as meeting some great new ones.

Another trip to Nashville is on the horizon - I'll fill you in on more as I know what's happening!

Wait...it's half way through August????

Hi everyone.

It appears I lost a couple months there.  It seems like just yesterday I was talking about the excitement of summer arriving soon and now the back to school stuff is already in the stores.  That means the Hallowe'en costumes are only days away, lol.

The CCMA's are coming up fast!  I am looking forward to them being in Hamilton since I won't have to go too far in enjoy the festivities.  It's always great to get the best of Canadian Country and Roots music together and celebrate.  I think there are still tickets for the actual awards show if you're interested in checking it out in person!

The new single is almost ready...I swear!  Better go do some more work on it!

Summertime...

OK, so it's still a few weeks until the official start of summer, but I think it's safe to say we're all pretty excited that the summer weather is finally here!  Warmer weather always seems to bring out the live music opportunities so I'm looking forward to booking some live shows.  Been so busy working on the album I haven't "got out much".  The new music is sounding great though, so it's been worth the hibernation.

Make sure you're on my mailing list and a fan on Facebook so you'll know the second I share a taste of some of the new songs!  And, I'll let you know as the live shows start piling up.

Sometimes it takes longer than you'd like...

Hi Everyone,

Just a little update on the new album.  Still hoping to have it out this spring - but maybe closer to June 2011.  I'm taking my time to make sure we get the best stuff on there for you to check out.  I'll keep you updated on the timeline as we go along.

CCMA's are only 6 months away already, can you believe it?

TTYS,
LORNE

Have I created a monster?

Welcome to 2011!

We moved at the start of the year, and then came down with the flu - but I'm still pretty much on track to having the new Lorne Ryder CD ready for a March release!  I just had vocalist Stacey Green working on some sweet sounding harmonies last week.  She's really adding to the sound of the songs.

I recently had a brainstorm for a cover song I'd like to record for the album, so it may delay the release a little.  It will be well worth it though.

Stay tuned for some news about some live shows - and perhaps for some sneak peaks at the new songs.
